Dambi Udo washing station is nestled in the highlands of Oromia near the town of Shakisso in the Guji Zone – roughly 530 km south of Addis. Owned by Abiyot Boru, the washing station is focused on processing speciality grade coffee, where only the ripest cherries from the local smallholder farmers are accepted. With 25 metre long raised beds and enhanced infrastructure, the excellent quality of Dambi Udo processed coffee yields a high market price that has direct impact on the livelihood of farmers and their communities.
