This lot is produced by the 37 smallholder farmers of Daannisa hamlet in the Guji Highlands in Southern Ethiopia. Average farm size in the group producers is 2.5 hectares. The coffee grows under a canopy of natural forest, much like most of Guji coffees in the area. The fertile red soil is made of clay and loam. All of the Daannisa farmers are trained in agronomy and processing practices by the "King of Guji", Ture Waji. Coffee cherries are meticulously dried on raised beds, with each lot tracked with tags that record specific delivery and start of drying date as well as moisture content reading for each day.
This coffee is Certified Organic.
